J Bay is here & Brazil put me back down the bottom part of the Tradewind Surf Fantasy surfer table. Now that John is out I also have no idea who to pick! Anyway, here goes for J Bay, My first tier picks are Jordy Smith, for obvious hometown killed it here many a times before reasons. Then my next pick is two career Alley Oops on one wave Toledo!
I finally have something to talk about, cracking the top 20 of our comp for the first time in over a year I would think! Hard to believe we are at Brazil already, halfway into the season & overall I think that I am only sneaking into the top 100 of our comp, it is not looking good for me saving Tradewind Surf's money & winning my own board. First pick for the Brazil contest is my favourite non Aussie surfer John John Florence. The second surfer I have picked is Italo Ferreira.
It's like the season never finished, straight back into it & over to Bells for the original Easter contest! We have nearly 150 Tradewind Surfers in the league, so the winner needs to put in hard work to take home the board this year! Straight into my picks & I have switched it up, but am feeling good about it. My Top tier has Wade Carmichael as I feel his surfing suits Bells & the guy is a giant killer, no surfer seems to phase him, my next Bells picks is Jordy Smith bru, he rips at Bells & has rung the bell before.
The count down is on for Teahupoo & lets hope we see the guys pulling into some monsters! Straight into the picks & for my top tier I have gone with Julian Wilson & Gabriel Medina for obvious reasons, with John still out injured, I feel like either of these two could take it out.
This one is exciting! Back to Keramas for the WSL event. Its hard because apart from the Mad Hueys contest there is not much to go on other than highlights from four years ago, which is actually worth a look on the video we have posted. For my picks, I have gone & given it a shake with the most exciting surfers I can find, the first one being Julian Wilson, it's looking like John is going to maybe have a bit of a World Title Gap year so to speak & I would love to see Julian bring a world title home to the Sunny Coast.
After a big anticlimax in Margarets, but everyones limbs in tact, it's time to put picks in for the Oi Rio Pro. Let's hope we get a winner in this contest. First up I have gone with Filipe Toledo & Griffin Colapinto, these two could easily win & I feel like the choices up in the top tier across the Fantasy population are going to be split fairly evenly, so have gone with a slightly different pick to maybe what I normally would.
Il start by saying John looked dangerous at Margarets, put him in your team! But you didn't need me to tell you that. I am trying to work out whether how John surfed at Margarets is going to translate at Bells, the easy money would be to say that it is going to.
