Maldive madness 8th June 2008 June 8, 2008 – Tags:

A 9:30 am flight out of brisbane normally means me having to wake up at 5 am in the morning so i don’t miss my flight. Im definitely not an early riser so leaving my warm bed in winter is no easy feat.. But as I’m driving down to the airport the only thing in the back of my mind was that i was heading to one of the most beautiful places on planet earth, the Maldives.
I was met at the airport by some good friends Mitch Coleborn, Paul Fisher and Ryan campbell. Fish after going mad out on the Gold coast the night before, rocked up to the airport smelling like a french public toilet with breath of a thousand camels looked like he was in a world of hurt and the 15 hour trip in a choker block airplane we had ahead of us wasn’t going to make it any easier for him, But he seemed to pull through and we all made it to the island unscathed and ready for some action!!
We arrived at Male’ airport which is pretty much an island with a runway on it and nothing else at 10:30 at night completely red eyed and were greeted by three cool Maldivians that were going to look after us on the boat ( the Handhu ) that was waiting for us at the dock. When we got on the boat we all grabbed our rooms and got some shut eye and hoped we would be greeted with some perfect waves to kick off the trip!
