WSL Tradewind Surf France Fantasy Picks October 4, 2017 – Tags: , , , , ,

Already at the Quik Pro stop in France. Hard to say whether the waves are going to be good, but they are dealing with an ordinary run of waves leading up to this time but apparently plenty of sand at La Graviere, which is the usual contest site, so fingers crossed for some chunky french nuggets!
Getting down to the picks & I have nothing to hide or lose. I have no chance of winning our own boards on offer & winning the Famous pack does not look likely, but follow my lead if you like. First up in the top echelon I have picked John John Florence & Gabriel Medina. They have both proved themselves here pretty much every year in recent years. Julian & Jordy were both tempting but you have to go with someone. Jordy has struggled here over most of his career, so I am sticking with the safe bet.
Through the middle, I have Mick Fanning, who is due for a result & loves France. Connor O’leary, mainly because I have been pleasantly surprised by him all year & owe him a pick & would like to see him do well & pick up the WSL Rookie of the Year award. Michel Bourez is in there & also Italo Ferreira, who has been on par with my backing of Ethan Ewing, they have delivered me not much but I am hopeful & waiting.
Leo Fioravanti is one of my bottom picks as he is basically a local in Hossegor even though he is from Italy. Ethan Ewing is my final pick, perhaps this is the contest he blows everyone away. Keanu Asing did that only last year in his Rookie season & still did not manage to requalify, so stranger things have happened you might say! Happy picking.
