I write this as i feel that my blogging has become a little bit stale over recent times. I'm not sure what it is, the sale of our products has gotten busier & certainly takes precedence over the writing, but i feel it is important to show who we are & what we're about. Coupled with that it was something i always enjoyed, long before people even knew how to find us.

Toothbrushes & Apparel

I have been asked numerous times over the years of living & breathing Tradewind Surf - " Willow why don't you get into apparel" ? It's an interesting question really, sure i like to look good & nudity is no longer acceptable at parties i attend & everyone needs to wear atleast something & at one point that would of been a business transaction. So why not get on the right end of that & start selling some clothing to go with my surfboards & hardware.

Lost V3 Rocket surfboard review

Lost V3 Rocket

It's crazy that we are up to the third generation Rocket. What is equally is crazy is that the boards in the rocket family, keep getting better, arguably. The Lost V3 Rocket is probably the most sensible of the three rockets. With a tighter, pulled in tail & a little less volume through the nose, this board , despite it's hybrid look, can surf extremely like a regular short board!

Why did Quik drop Clay Marzo!

The surfing arena is ever changing, direction wise & most definitely business wise, the term family is thrown around i believe loosely & ends for talented individuals, after a false sense of security often tragically. Clay Marzo is one of those surfers, after two injuries one after the other. After being in the Quik 'family' for a long time, he has been dropped, though now at 100% he is no longer sponsored & contemplating the future, check out the vid to see how hard he is still shredding!

Hurley Australian Open

The Hurley Australian Open is back after a one year hiatus in 2013. We have to say that if you are in the area over the weekend then get down there & check out the action. Being there for the first one in 2012 was an absolute pleasure, between good crew, hot weather, fun waves & a balance of good parties, sitting here writing this blog makes me envious of my self two years prior!

Great action awaits over the weekend, with Sunny Coast boys Mitch Coleborn & Kai Hing both into the business end of the contest, there is other guys in there too we are not biased haha. Get down there.

John John Florence about to do nasty things to this Indo lip

Future surfing World Champions. An interesting thought came to me while talking to a friend the other day about where the surfing world is headed, with the arrival on the scene of guys like John John Florence, Julian Wilson, Gabriel Medina to name a few.

The Legendary Al Byrne R.I.P

Al Byrne has died in Bali, after a motorbike accident. It is with great sadness that we share with you that Iconic shaper Al Byrne has died after crashing his bike in Bali over the weekend.

Al Byrne was known as a legendary surfboard shaper, in Australia & around the globe amongst the worldwide surfing community. As a young surfer from the Sunshine Coast, I can remember Al being one of the first shapers i heard the name of, the older crew would speak about his Indo & Hawaii boards being the best you could get your hands on.

Passion in my definition would be anything that drives you to pursue the subject, not worried about the consequences or whether people stand by you & your passions.
